The Sendai City Gender Equality Promotion Center promotes equal
opportunity for men and women and contributes toward making Sendai a "gender-equal"
city. At the same time, it provides a place for cultural activities and strives
to raise the cultural level of our citizens. The Center is made up of two organizations,
the "L-Park Sendai" and the "L-Sola Sendai," which are working
to develop various kinds of projects.
The Sendai Gender Equal Opportunity Foundation is in charge of managing and operating
this Center in accordance with the Sendai City Ordinance for Gender Equal Opportunity
(took effect on April 1, 2003) to promote gender equity. |

| This facility is located on the 5th and 6th floors of the 141 Building.
It contains rooms that can be used for a variety of purposes, including a seminar
hall, gallery, special conference room, art studio, kitchen, recording studio,
fitness club, and a Japanese-style room. In addition to holding lectures and events
on gender equal opportunity, the citizens' activity space serves as a counseling
and information exchange area. |

This organization is on the 28th and 29th floors of the AER building located very close to Sendai Station. There are seminar rooms, and gShiminkoryu -tosyoshiryo spacehwhich can be used for civic various activities on the 28th floor. Counseling services for women is on the 29th floor. The various lectures and events for gender equality promotion are carried out.
